They are really interesting. I believe I have seen the same thing down in Houston, but not in my area. We do have Spanish Moss.

They are, that one is from around a branch and probably 10″ diameter, I don’t see much Spanish Moss in my neighborhood, too dry – odd?

yes, that one is from a dead tree, I picked it up walking my dogs.
