I am getting the odor of a bad vibe from the Dahlia. Overnight we have yellowing leaves and sunken black spots on the foliage. Hope springs eternal for the two final buds to produce flowers.
On another note, the story of my garden was published in GardenRant, a garden blog dispensing ideas, problems and sometimes trashing out Martha Stewart.
Anyway, here is the link:
Enjoy and let me know what you think!
Happy Gardening!!
I enjoyed your garden essay… I’m sure it’ll be helpful for those struggling to garden in similar conditions. I guess the dahlia doesn’t like humidity, bummer.

Thanks Eliza. I am not sure what the Dahlia likes at this point.

That was a nice read Amelia. π Throwing the books away and ignoring all those magazine articles is something I have learned too. Some of the plants I grow are a direct result of looking carefully at the nature around us. π Hope the dahlia survives.

Thank you, the books are gathering dust. I think journalist types may research and write books instead of gardening by fire and then writing a book. Strange practice.
