I am joining Cathy at Words and Herbs for her winter blogging event, A Week of Flowers. I missed the first two episodes and am sending out a big blast of tropical warmth from my South Florida garden.
Above is Lobsterclaw Heliconia (Heliconia rostrata) in full bloom. These are summer flowering plants here. They love steamy heat much more than I do!

Love your tropicals.

Your Lobsterclaw blooms are wonderful. They must be in the perfect spot because they are blooming so well.

The pictures are from this summer. They are planted under the edge of a roof without gutters.

Thanks for that blast of tropical warmth! I would actually welcome some steamy heat today – it has been around freezing point all day here. Glad you are joining in for the week of flowers today Amelia. 🤗

Beautiful! In this season, I need to get over to the indoor botanical gardens to see the green and colorful plants. Thanks for sharing yours!

Hard to believe plants are even real sometimes. What a cool and interesting shape.

Oh, I do like Heliconia for their foliage, but this bloom is too awesome for me to not want to grow it. I just can not give it what it wants. The weather here does not stay hot for long, and is certainly not humid. I might be able to grow it down by the creek for summer, but it would not like how cool it gets down there for winter.
