A Week in Flowers – Butterflies on Friday

It’s Friday and the sixth installment of A Week in Flowers. I love butterflies in the garden and have been planting more (and stranger) plants to attract butterflies. The results have been fun to watch.

A Swallowtail nectaring on a Heirloom Penta.

Zebra Longwing on a Firebush.

White Peacock on Ixora berry..

Sulphur on White Geiger tree.

Gulf Fritillary on the Heirloom Penta..

That’s my Flowery Friday with Butterflies. To see more flowery posts, visit Cathy at wordsandherbs.wordpress.com.

  2. You have a nice selection of butterflies. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like the White Peacock.

  3. You have a lovely gallery of butterflies. Unfortunately, I’ve only be able to capture a a few images. And none are that good. I especially like the image with the Pentas!

Lovely to show both flowers and your beautiful visitors. Some of the names are so fitting. Have never seen a Zebra Longwing or White Peacock but we have one type of swallowtail here and various fritillaries.

Just what I needed on this gray, chilly day– bright flowers and beautiful butterflies. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white peacock before, I love its pastel colors. It’s exciting that your plantings are attracting more of them, success!

Really wonderful photos. (I’ve been calling you Amelia, is it Amy?) Would love to see the White Peacock. There were numerous sightings and excitement over Zebra Longwings in NC this summer but I didn’t see one. It’s nice to have neighbors with the right plants!
