These plants are all new to me. I always find it fascinating seeing the native plants in other parts of the world. I am very impressed by your slideshow.
Some great looking plants – it’s amazing to see how many Hypericums there are throughout the world. I love the slash pine. It is one of my favourite sub-tropical conifers
thanks, I agree – I did not realize the number of Hypericums, even in my area. Slash Pine love? They are very prominent here, it is really interesting how they survive and thrive on fires.
I like all of the warm-climate conifers, there’s some quite unique about them. I know slash-pine isn’t well regarded in the US, but it’s a tough plant that will do well near the coast and create really valuable shelter belts (plus I just like the open shape and habit)
The slide show was an accident and the teacher won’t give any credit for the plant ID because they are not in a Word format. I am glad you enjoyed it, my next venture was for the native Bromeliads/Airplants. I will post those later this week.

It is an amazing tree, takes heat, drought, hurricanes, fire – have you been in the swamps here?

No, I’ve not been in the swamps – as I’ve not gone that far south, but maybe on my next trip 🙂

I live very near the last undeveloped/undefiled acreage in east Florida. If you like Slash Pine, you would love this swamp..
